Collaboration with Swiss Designer Frédéric Dedelley, Gaan and Danielle Dreier proves effective. With TWOBAG, Frédéric Dedelley designed a totally new and hitherto unknown concept of carryalls. Danielle Dreier's PONCHO NANO complements beautifully the Nano-rain gear line. And KOIN, the coin box designed by Bruno Limberger in 1960, is a successful re-launch project with studio Gaan. Though respecting the original as much as possible, they managed to create something truly new in their own right.

MERLO-T’s new look makes its debut at the Ambiente in Frankfurt and is a great success. Newness pair of bookends QUOTE/UNQUOTE, NUMBER ONE Nano rain hat and GUNTE the innovative Japanese work gloves proved very popular at that time and still do today.

2006

Move from Baden-Daettwil to Dietikon near Zurich. A new MERLO-T Corporate Identity is created and a design competition involving three Zurich offices is launched. Phaidon add the Paper Collector to their edition of 999 Design Classics as no. 884.

Continuous expansion of the collection and consolidation of the distribution activities in the Swiss market. NANONUNO® – the collection of innovative Nano textiles emerges.

The third success product emerges: The TMP CARAFE DRYER, a surprisingly simple idea, which like the Paper Collector forms the basis of a new product category.

History Papercollector

1994–2005

The domestic Swiss market is developed with the TMP PAPER COLLECTOR as a strong foundation. Later expanding internationalisation of the product followed, stretching from Germany to the US (MoMA) and to Japan.

History Breakfeastcollection

1990–1993

Introduction of the first product line, “Breakfast Collection”, which is distributed directly from Hong Kong via international wholesalers. With more than one million units sold, «Eggboy» spiral eggcup becomes a mega hit und an important cornerstone in the creation of an international distribution network. In late 1993 the company moves from Hong Kong to Baden-Daettwil (Switzerland).
