Bruno Limberger 1934 – 1994
Bruno Limberger was a devoted architect, artist and host. After completing his studies at the
reknowned Kunstgewerbeschule Zurich (school for applied arts), he worked at Belmag, Philips and
Globus. In 1968 he opened his own office as an interior architect specializing in the conceptual
design of retail outlets and department stores.
Throughout his entire life, Limberger was in constant pursuit of the «ideal» daily-use
product. This quest lead to the development of many fine products, including his shoe shelf,
wardrobe, saving box, umbrella, hanger, dining table, shopping bag, purse, desk lamp, and the
modular system «Converta».
Yet cooking was probably Bruno Limberger's ultimate passion and being a chef was his childhood
dream. Many a lucky guest was lavished with his creative cuisine and devotion to perfection.

«Koin was the first product for MERLO-T, a re-interpretation of a Bruno Limberger design from 1960. The seal type fascinated us. Also, the use of wood as a material and the clear lines reflect our idea of a timeless product increasing in value with use. By applying modern technologies we were able to design a more user-friendly KOIN and by adding further sizes we have created an entire product family.»
